New Factory in Birmingham Unveiled by Lord Mayor of Birmingham

  

Birmingham based company, Conway Precision Engineering Ltd  held a grand Open Day for customers and supporters on Tuesday 7th May, to celebrate the unveiling of their new factory.

The new premises, in Witton, which is three times bigger than its current site, was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Cllr Yvonne Mosquito.

Managing Director Garry Fisher said: “We have made a huge investment for the future growth of the company and have also taken on new apprentices.  We have a number of highly skilled employees who have unique skills and experience that you don’t come across very easily, so we need to ensure we are investing in the next generation, and the apprenticeship route enables us to do that and to increase productivity.”

The Open Day, which  included a tour of the new factory, and True Position Robotics  attended by long standing customers of Conway, including representatives from Rolls Royce, HSBC, JCB, Jaguar Land Rover and many more.   Staff from the charity Parkinson’s UK was  also  present, as the company  also announced their new charity partnership.

Garry said: “Our expansion plans have been very well received by our customers, they saw our investment as a real vote of confidence in the industry and was all really excited to   show them the new premises at the Open Day”.

The business, design's and manufacture gauges, jigs and machining fixtures and project engineering solutions for the automotive and aerospace industries began nearly 60 years ago behind a butcher’s shop in Birmingham and has gone from strength to strength, working side by side with some of the Midlands biggest and well-known brands and since a management buyout two years ago supported by HSBC has continued to invest in new equipment and people.
